Traditional dishes such as
Fajitas, Burritos
and Tortas are
accompanied by unique authentic dishes from the Guadajara
Region of Mexico.
One of the favorites from El Sol is our Molcajete.
What is a Molcajete?
The words "molcajeta and tejolote" are Spanish for "mortar
and pestle". These volcanic rock bowls, originally used
by the ancient Aztecs, are still used in Mexican cooking
to grind spices and make sauces. We use them as a serving
bowl for our hosue specialties, the molcajete mixto and molcajete
de camarones. Molcajetes are served with rice, beans, and
tortillas.
Try a Molcajete on your next visit. There are a few to choose from
with steak, chicken, shrim, mushrooms that are garnished
with cilantro, spring onions, cactus and banana peppers.
Parrilladas
Also, fun for one person or couples, is our Parrilladas.
Parrilladas are a small tabletop grill with your choice
of meats, garnished with spring onions, cactus and banana
peppers.
Salads
We also have a wide variety of salads available
with or without meat and seafood.

Although not quite as popular in Mexico, dessert is something we often like to
have after a meal here in the US. We offer a few traditional Mexican desserts
to complete your dining experience. Ask your server about our homemade flan (vanilla
custard)!
